Telehealth & Rx Delivery

Four ways to see a clinician today, and three ways to pay less for your prescriptions.

Care without an appointment

Four ways to see someone today

CloseKnit

Virtual-first primary care — a care team you can build a relationship with, not just a one-off visit.

Well Connection

Live video visits with licensed doctors 24/7, and behavioral health providers by appointment, from anywhere in the US.

A telehealth cost share may apply.

Doctor on Call

Blue Cross telehealth access when you need a clinician quickly.

HealthJoy

Care navigation and virtual visits through the app — available to every employee, whether or not you are enrolled in a plan.

Your own doctor may offer telehealth too

If your in-network provider uses a different telehealth service, you are still covered. You do not have to switch to Well Connection to have a virtual visit — ask your own practice what they offer.

Prescriptions

What you pay, and how to pay less

Prescription cost share by plan. Retail is up to a 30-day supply; mail service is up to 90 days.
Tier PPO $4000 and HMO $4000 PPO Saver
Generic $15 retail$30 mail · before the deductible $10 retail$20 mail · after the $4,000 deductible
Preferred brand $30 retail$60 mail · before the deductible $25 retail$50 mail · after the deductible
Non-preferred brand $50 retail$150 mail · before the deductible $45 retail$135 mail · after the deductible
Specialty Applicable generic, preferred or non-preferred cost shareFrom a designated specialty pharmacy. Not covered out-of-network Applicable cost shareAfter the deductible
Separate prescription out-of-pocket limit $1,000 member / $2,000 family None — prescriptions count toward the single combined limit

On the PPO Saver, prescriptions sit behind the full deductible

The PPO Saver has the lowest copays on the page — but you only reach them after meeting $4,000. Until then you pay the full negotiated price. On the PPO $4000 and HMO $4000, that $15 generic applies from your first fill of the year.

If you take regular medication, this is the single most important difference between the plans.

Three ways to cut your prescription costs

Worth ten minutes of your time

Cost-Share Assistance

Administered by PillarRx, this applies manufacturer coupons at the counter so you pay $0 to $35 depending on the medication.

If you opt out you become responsible for 30% of the full retail cost of eligible medications. On a specialty drug that is a significant difference.

No-Cost Generic Medications

Named generics for depression, high cholesterol, diabetes, heart disease and high blood pressure are covered at $0 — copay and deductible both waived.

PPO $4000 and HMO $4000 only. Not available on the PPO Saver.

Mail order, 90 days at a time

Maintenance medications delivered home through CVS Caremark. A 90-day mail supply generally costs less than three retail fills.

Claiming one mail order fill also earns $25 toward your wellness balance.

Check a medication before you fill it

The Medication Lookup Tool shows whether a drug is covered, which tier it sits in, whether prior authorization or step therapy applies, and what the covered alternatives are. You can use it without signing in.

If a medication is expensive, asking your prescriber about a lower-tier alternative before you leave the appointment saves a second trip.
